3rd – 7th February 2025
✪ This week, we have been talking about our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM)! Like lots of other organisations, our AGM is a meeting of our Board of Trustees which is made up of all our members, and we come together to talk about the charity and make lots of decisions and changes to how we run People First going forward. Our members have really shined with doing this work and a lot of excellent plans have been made for the meeting! Our member Amy L has even put together a menu of some of the foods we will be serving!
✪ We have also been talking a lot about the senior job roles on the board like Chairman, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. We have been blown away to see all the amazing responses! The members have had lots of in-depth conversations about what skills we need in our different roles. It’s been fantastic to hear everyone be so passionate!
✪ Wednesday saw the release of the first People First Podcast episode of 2025! In this week’s episode our members Caitlin (who organised the interview), Daniel and Stephen W spoke to Project Manager Rachel of AWARE – the Airedale & Wharfedale Autism Resource! They are a local support group that work with families of children with autism and help support the child in lots of different ways.
It was very interesting to learn lots of new information about this incredible local group and we really enjoyed having Rachel on the show!

✪ The moasic coasters we have been making over the last few weeks have also come back, fully finished and ready for people to use! Our member Jane O has been showing us all how to make them and has brought in all the materials, and she has done a fantastic job of teaching us all! Thank you Jane O!
✪ Friday saw Lizzie presenting a very musical video she has been working on! Congratulations on a fantastic piece of work Lizzie!
✪ The new episode of the PFKC Podcast Corner was also released on Friday, featuring very special guest Maggie Philbin OBE! We were all very excited to get to speak to her on the show about her long career on TV and presenting for radio as well as her charity TeenTech!
✪ And to finish off our week, our beautiful new office plants have bloomed this week! We were very kindly gifted them from Northcliffe Environmental Enterprises Team (NEET) after doing a piece of work with them. Thanks again!
