Another fun and busy month has finished at People First Keighley and Craven!
✪ This week we have been focusing a lot on our Annual General Meeting – a big meeting of our Board of Trustees and staff members to talk about our organisation as a whole. We held the event on Tuesday downstairs in Central Hall and we were astounded by all the people that attended! There were a lot of our members there with their parents and carers, as well as some friends from other organisations, who were there to discuss
Catrina, Janet and Adam hosted a presentation with lots information about People First and what has changed about it in 2024-25. With the help of our members they talked about the different things our organisation does, what work our members do, the different ways our charity is funded, and much more!
We then heard from a few of our members doing their election presentations for the new roles on our board – Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
✪ Throughout the rest of the week, the members have been watching videos of all the presentations and voting for who they would like to see in each of the positions. We will be announcing the successful applicants ahead of our next board meeting in March.
Good luck to everyone who is running for a board position! It has been amazing seeing everyone planning their campaigns and seeing everyone present them.

But that’s not all we’ve been up to!
✪ On Wednesday we had our second planning session for our trip to the Yorkshire Dales National Park! The members got to see more of the route and looked over the menu for the park’s café. We are all very excited for the trip next week and for our wheelchair users to get the chance to go on the trail with an accessible all-terrain wheelchair!
✪ And to finish off the week, Friday saw our February social night at the Balti House in Keighley.
