This week at People First Keighley and Craven...
9th – 13th December 2024
As it is our second to last week before we have a break for Christmas and New Year’s, we have been having a lot of festive fun this week! Christmas crafting, making cards for our colleagues, bringing in presents for our Office Secret Santa, as well as having our Christmas Ball party!
But that’s not all we’ve been up to…
✪ To start off our week, we discussed reasonable adjustments around the table! In the new year we are planning to do a whole week about work adjustments, so with our Monday and Tuesday groups we started talking about what reasonable adjustments are and what adjustments can help us in different parts of our lives.
✪ And in the afternoon, our member Alex is a presentation about how to stay warm during winter, which he wrote as a section for our Christmas podcast!
✪ Our members Adrian and Lindsey went with Catrina to a co-production meeting at Manningham Mills to join lots of other local services!
✪ Wednesday saw the release of the newest episode of the People First Podcast, featuring our new team member Matthew talking about hidden disabilities, and the meaning of the hidden disability sunflower lanyard.
✪ Our member Oliver went with Angus to Homeless Not Hopeless to deliver the donations we received for Oliver’s Outreach! We are all so proud of Oliver for doing this incredible project and thankful to the lovely team at HNH for this post about our donation.
We are still taking on donations for any items listed on the poster below, which we will donate in January.
✪ And Tom, Sarah B and Steven B led a fantastic presentation at Airedale Hospital, which will be our last one of 2024! We are very excited to keep working with their student groups next year!
✪ And to finish off the week, we filmed a short festive video about all the work this year – over 12 Months of PFKC!
