PLEASE SUPPORT OUR CAUSE

This week at People First Keighley and Craven…

✧ As it was our Inclusive Wellbeing Week festival last week, every day our members have been giving some feedback about it! What sessions they liked the most. how the wellbeing week made them feel, as well as giving some things we could change in the future with similar events.

✧ On Monday afternoon we had another session of Makaton training led by Shelagh Crossley! A lot of our members started to learn basic vocabulary signs and learned some signs about wellbeing.

Image shows 8 women standing up in front of a door and two large windows, all holding up blue booklets with writing on them. In the top corner of the booklets is the Makaton Charity logo. Some of them have learning disabilities. The text reads: "Frontline Workshop for General Wellbeing."

✧ Tuesday saw the last session of our Wellbeing Festival! We visited the Marley Activities and Coaching Centre in Keighley where we had a session of football! We all had a very fun time and it was a great ending to the wellbeing week.

✧ On Wednesday the members of our podcast team released the newest episode! Instead of having an interview, this week’s show is a discussion between 4 members who attended the This is Me Festival at the end of June about what they thought of the event and what they saw there! They also filmed some interviews with a few of the stall owners, which is available on the People First Podcast YouTube page

On Thursday we had a Positivity Pop-Up with Skipton Step Into Action! We had a great time showing off our sensory items, seeing around their gorgeous office at Fisher Medical Centre and even got to interview some of the people there!

And on Friday, our members Shannon, Stephen H and Kenny, Rebecca, Benjamin, Matthew and Caitlin went to do some litter picking around Keighley! They were motivated by the increasing amount of litter in our beautiful town, we knew we had to take action! They are proud of what they accomplished and hope our actions inspire others to keep Keighley clean and green.
