A Unique Self-Advocacy Framework – created at People First Keighley and Craven, made with the sole intention to help each and every member live their best lives.
We have seen adults with learning disabilities being given carers and care packages that simply just supports the person to survive – we believe every person deserves to be given tools and space to learn how to thrive in life.
During their time at PFKC, our members experience independence opportunities in a safe environment that offers help and protection. Once they become confident in those skills in the office, they can then filter that independence into their daily lives.
That’s why we’ve pioneered a unique Self-Advocacy Framework that you won’t find anywhere else. This isn’t just a service – it’s a community that helps springboard members onto bigger and better things!
Our methodology is in depth, it took over two years to develop. The staff and volunteers have gone above and beyond to share their thoughts. This information is added alongside the feedback of members to ensure the process is easy to follow and delivers a consise but rich feedback strategy that gives you quantative data and most importantly qualitative data that enables you to track progress and highlight areas that need extra work.
And it works. Our members are becoming leaders and change-makers. They are proving that this capability has been inside them all along. They are proving that with the right framework, people flourish – and go on to achieve even bigger things.
Our service is very much a thoughtful, structured experience. We employ highly skilled staff, we operate in a regulated environment with extensive policies and procedures that create a safe place that is reliably being open 50 weeks out of the year.
We’re now offering training in our framework to organisations, services, and groups who want to adopt this powerful approach. We don’t want to gate keep this hard work
If you want to support the people in your service to grow even more then this training is for you.
“PFKC is not a final stop – but the place where journeys begin.”
