PFKC Community Positivity Board

Amid the recent unrest across the UK, the Bradford region has responded not with fear or division, but with unity and kindness. Our members at People First Keighley and Craven felt motivated to create a Community Positivity Board in response to the division – with a vibrant display of poems, quotes, artistic posters and thought-provoking words as symbols of solidarity with our local area. Our beautiful town of Keighley has a rich and diverse population which the members embrace positively.

The positivity board our members created is bursting with messages such as, “It is our right to live in peace” and “It’s time to show our kindness,” marking the team’s commitment to inclusivity and rejecting hatred and division, all in aid of conveying our message of kindness to those feeling persecuted in our town. Our board reflects the values that bind us as a community, which the members’ say are respect, compassion, and unity.

Their hope is our message will be read and felt by everyone visiting the library.

The Community Positivity Board is more than just a collection of messages, it’s a reminder that in challenging times, we can choose to respond with kindness to bring us as people of Keighley closer not further away. As we move forward, the board encourages us all to continue standing together, ensuring Keighley remains a place where everyone feels valued and safe. Take a moment to visit the board in the library, add your own message, and be part of the ripple of the ever-growing positivity spreading through our community.
