✪ On Monday, our week started off by being included in Learning Disability England’s Good Life Series of posts! It was called “Effective Voice – Self Advocacy and Advocacy” and focused on our podcast interviews at the LDE Conference in Manchester! We feel very lucky that LDE have highlighted the work of our members and presented it in such an accessible, easy read format.

✪ Wednesday saw the release of the new episode of the People First Podcast! This week’s episode featured Tatum, the project manager of the Accessible Information Standard at Healthwatch Leeds! We worked with Tatum last week to review the Healthwatch website to see how accessible it was for people with learning disabilities.
In the interview we asked her about why accessible information is so important and learned more about Healthwatch and how they support people!

✪ In the afternoon, many of our staff and members were out of the office in Skipton Town Hall for our Craven Safer Streets event!
✪ Our member Jane W also released the first interview of her new TV Show! In this new video series, she will be speaking to people from around the PFKC office, getting new information and having fun chatting!
The first episode features Tom, who talks about all the different roles he has!
✪ After a busy day on Thursday discussing our upcoming coffee morning fundraiser, Simon led a special bingo session to celebrate our volunteer Wendy’s birthday!
