✪ This week, our members have been working with our newest volunteer Natalia on a project about reasonable adjustments! She presented a powerpoint and got feedback from the guys that discussed what reasonable adjustments are, what they can look like, how people with disabilities and people without can use them and why they are so important.
Everyone has been really engaged in this work, so well done to Nat for this incredible project from her!
✪ Our Monday members also took part in an EasyRead workshop with Pete Le Grys, the Co-Founder of the organisation Photosymbols!
Photosymbols are a small group that create and publish picture resources to support organisation that produce EasyRead content, which can support people with learning disabilities to make documents and other kinds of writing more accessible.
Pete travelled to our office to talk to us about why EasyRead is important and talk about how Photosymbols could be useful to our work as a People First organisation, and we shared some of the work we do with EasyRead!
✪ Tuesday saw the podcast team interviewing and incredibly interesting local guest – Donard Nyamjua, a guide runner and personal trainer who works with people with disabilities!
Donard has worked with Paralympic athletes as well as everyday people at PureGym in Keighley, so many of our sporty and gym-going members were excited to ask him questions! It was an honour to have him in the studio with us and we all loved speaking with him.
✪ Wednesday saw the release of the newest episode of the People First Podcast featuring the members of our Friday group reviewing our Coffee Morning Fundraiser event!

✪ On Thursday, most of our office was out in the afternoon to do a community litter pick around Keighley! It was a great chance to get out in the lovely sun and work to support our local area.
✪ And in the afternoon, Jacquie went out with our manager Catrina to Keighley Library for a meeting!
✪ And to finish off the week, Friday saw the release of the newest episode of the PFKC Podcast Corner featuring special guest Laurence Knight from The Bowie Experience tribute act!
