✪ After finishing up the long Easter weekend, our week started on Tuesday with our member Ish having a session of reading work with our volunteer Susan! Ish was very proud of his work and so wanted to talk about it on our podcast episode about reading work!

On working with Ish over the last few weeks, Susan said: “Ish has worked with great enthusiasm and motivation to learn his letter sounds. We have worked in partnership as he has taught me the Makaton finger spelling signs and I have taught him the letter sounds each letter makes. He has found his own pictures to match to the letters – for example, having “Catrina” for C, “Zidane” for Z and “Kane kicking” for K.

He is also working hard to be able to identify objects that start with given letters for example picking cat and car that start with the given letter c.”
